What is Pastoral Counseling?

Pastoral counseling for individuals and couples is personalized counseling that utilizes biblical promises and principles to comfort, lead and confirm what steps to take to resolve your problems, and receive healing and peace. In a judgement-free environment you will receive supportive care while you seek to understand and learn God's ways to overcome hurts and obstacles, and find direction for your future.

Bio
HELENA M. MARIADES, TH.D.
EDUCATION: A pastoral counselor for over 20 years, Helena Mariades was educated at Capital Bible College (Counseling Diploma), Florida Christian University (Pastoral Counseling BM, Christian Psychology MM, President’s Award for Achievement), and Florida Theological Seminary (Theology Th.D.) and American Association of Christian Counselor (Life Coach). She is certified as an Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist by the Grief Recovery Method Institute®.
ASSOCIATIONS: Dr. Helena has been a Member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and was endorsed by the AACC International Board of Christian Counselors as a Board Certified Biblical Counselor. She is ordained with Harvesters Christian Fellowship since 2001, a non-denominational Christian organization.
EXPERIENCE: In 2001, Restoration Groups, a support groups ministry, was launched by Dr. Helena in Winter Park, Florida. During that year, she also founded Restoration Counseling Ministries.Counseling was offered to Central Florida residents and to residents of the local Union Rescue Mission.
In 2007, Dr. Helena and her husband, Rev. Peter Mariades Th.D., moved and re-established her pastoral counseling practice. To continue counseling her valued clients in Central Florida, she incorporated online video calling counseling, which quickly extended her services to others in many cities throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
Thereafter, Dr. Helena completed her certification training to become an Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist. Helping people heal from emotional pain has always been the motivating factor in her pursuit of the most effective healing tools. The Grief Recovery Method helps grievers of all types of losses complete the grieving process and say good-bye to the pain.
